Default Renewing interior question

Looking to recover dash, pod, console and front seats this winter. The parts are in good shape, except the original leather has shrunk and distorted.

I have the time and place to do this. There is a significant savings over shipping parts across the country and having them done.

Question is. Has anyone purchased the leather pre cut pieces from Rob and done their own install?? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

I can vouch that having sent my dash to Rob -- the end result is amazing.

I just reinstalled this weekend.

I resurfaced the pod myself with mixed results -- not too bad -- but nothing like it would
have been had Rob done it.

picture I have does not do it justice, won't even bother posting.

Although I didn't order the leather from Rob, I did the seats on the '84 from a 928 Spec leather kit. Wasn't too bad but needed a set of hog-ring pliers, hog rings, glue, etc. LOTS of u-tube videos on how to do it. And I think Paul has a video or .pdf guide on his website. Hardest part was getting the leather to lay right on the seams on the center upper and lower cushions. I now have a set on order for the GTS and asked that the foam be glued in on the center pieces to avoid that (again). And after 17 years, I figure it probably needed new foam anyway. Rob will glue new foam in if you ask/pay.

While the seats and center console are out, I found it a good time to do the carpet too. Besides, what's another $600

Looks very nice Martin. Any pictures of the re-covering process? I just ordered various interior leather bits from Bob Budd - I was planning on getting at least the quarters and headliner applied professionally using his covers, but may do the dash/console/glovebox myself.

If your talking about the Rob in michigan, I have ordered quite a few items and there very nice. Also great to deal with .

The only problem I had was getting a glue that worked, I could not seem to get the brand of glue that Rob recommended locally.
