I'm sorry I don't see that. Is this semantics? Starting high is just starting high, at least according to ebay rules. Does the high bidder at this point realize he is committed to buying. And you are commited to accepting at the current price.

Or are you saying there WAS a reserve but you removed it? Just trying to clarify the terms of this auction.

"Watchers", "Lookers", "Bidders", and "Buyers" distinctions are not the same. Going to be interesting if this car does sell for that early top bid or even more $ than that. Also hope we do not see this 928 relisted because the buyer backed out. I still do hope that rol67 gets a high price for this car because it's a beauty and it's worth whatever he gets 77Tony

Update: 4 distinct bidders, last at 27,600 with zero feedback, that was a no reserve auction; it has been relisted with a reserve.

Last time it was a Reserve Auction. The same joker that bid me up on my last auction is bidding again. I am going to cancel his bid if possible. He bid me up to my Reserve on the last auction and then day before auction was ending, another bid came in. It was a bidder with zero history that ended up having the same last name as the bidder who bid me up to my Reserve price. Games going on here. I have contacted eBay. I hope to have some legitimate bidders this auction. We will see.

Last I checked you can cancel any bid. I frequently see seller stipulate that zero feedback bidders are either forbidden or screened prior to bidding.

In speaking with eBay today, they cancelled the bid by that was placed today. However you cannot not take bids by folks with Zero Feedback ratings or under a certain threshold automatically. You need to go in and cancel a specific bid manually.

I don't think you have explored the options eBay provides the seller. I believe you can also stipulate that all bidders provide a credit card prior to bidding. This is used to screen out unwanted newbys and teens. Of course you will have fewer bidders, maybe no bidders.

I am just going by what the woman from eBay told me today. BTW, when I got specific with my questions about the games the bidders were playing, I was routed from their India call center to someone here in the states.
