To autozone. He tells me its a ten year old battery. It came in the 951 when I got it 6 years ago.

Duralast made some good batteries 5 or so years ago, but not so sure they still do.

I bought the Interstate today (well, yesterday now). $125 before tax. Looks like it will be a snug fit in the box. EDIT: The Interstate MTP-3 was a perfect fit in the box. It is not going to slide around at all

My battery died yesterday when I tried to start the car. It was an "Energizer" brand that was 10 years old. Replaced it with a Deka from a local independent auto parts store. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Maybe someone can help me with my Interstate MPT93 in my 83. The battery was new when I got the car almost 5 yrs ago, but the car has not been driven much in 3 yrs while I WYIT everything on it and the 81. I put it on the charger occasionally. Last week I checked the water in it and it was low; the very top of the neg side plates were slightly exposed. I never let that happen before. Anyway, topped everything up w/distilled water. When I put the charger on it, it acted like it was shorted and tripped the charger after a few seconds. Put the charger back on it today and it charged up normally. Did the acid need to mix w/the water?

Default MAXX-49 Walmart 928 battery

A vote for Wallyworld.
Good warranty, great price, and with walmarts everywhere I don't have to worry when I am on the road.

I needed a battery in a pinch and bought from Oreillys for the 951, but then went to Walmart and found a much better price, warranty as well as better cranking amps etc.

Dunno what it needed, but I've had batteries act a little funny after adding distilled water, then later on seem fine.
