Default Ozone generators

Just a heads up for anyone battling musty smells etc. on the interior. I rented one of these and put in my old mercedes for 3 hours and it made a night and day difference. Even got deep into the carpet to get mildew smell and maybe even the foam under the carpet.

Tried tons of cleaners before and no luck. I'm going to put it in my 82 928 for a couple hours tonight. Pretty astounded with these things. Would be good for smoke smells also I would think. If I can find a higher output one for cheap I'm going to buy one. the one I rented is high output but it costs $400 to buy ($35/day to rent). They have a lower output one for $15/day and judging form the results I would guess the lower output one would do fine. You guys may already know about these but they are new to me and well worth the rental price.

My neighbor down the street had a small house fire earlier this summer. No house fire is small but this one was in the big scheme of things....as usual it was smoke damage that was the worse.
The contractor in charge of "clean up" used a similar device to get rid of the smoke smell in the attic and house. AMAZING what it did. Granted the house was repainted carpet replaced etc..but the Ozone generator by itself makes a huge difference.

Sean I have one if you want to have it shipped down and back. It is an alpine air system I bought 20 years ago. Perfect for getting funky smells out of things.

Let us know in a week or two if the change is permanent or if the smell comes back. I've never used one, but I'm very interested if they get to the cause of the smell.

Some info on Ozone generators per the EPA. Not that I'm a fan of the EPA but I figured everyone can draw their own conclusions. I think in the car smell removal, it's a great idea.
