I've done a search but can't find any info on the best way to install the hood badge. The nuts on the bottom are the easy part, but that stupid gasket is driving me nuts! I am most nervous about scraching the hood, so may be a bit timid, but rather safe than sorry. TIAV

take the gasket and dip it into hot water let soak for 5 mins
fit to the badge then install ASAP.

I did not have a issue with the hood badge gasket, but I swear the gaskets for the GTS mirrors I installed on my car were the hardest single job I have ever done on a 928.
The looked to be at least a 1/2 inch smaller than they needed to be, all the way around.
So if your gasket is like that, I feel your pain.
I ended up using two extra people, Wurth brake clean to get the paint absolutely clean and 3M blue tape to hold them in place while I installed the bases.
The next set we did, the gaskets fit fine.

Re the aero I suspect that the different bases used on different models have a different footprint and Porsche or the supplier seems to get things mixed up from time to time...

I got mine started under one corner of the emblem and slowly worked the gasket around the edges with a tiny flat screwdriver, being very careful not to scratch the paint. Once on, I kept one hand on the emblem pushing it against the hood while attaching the nuts on the underside with my other hand. It is tricky to say the least!

Score another save to Rennlist!
Quit last night frustrated after breaking a stud off the old emblem and not even getting close to stretching the gasket in place. That was supposed to be a little “win” to make up for other slow moving projects.
Fast forward 12 hours and shazam!

Warm water and tooth picks kept breaking, but careful use of a mini screw driver did the trick.
Thanks for the tips!
