Default Carputer Software: Lets start talking what we can do with it?

IIRC, Hans suggested that they had settled on a specific software package for the Carputer, Centrafuse IIRC.

We dont have OBD2, which would make the ingest of all manner of info really easy.

So lets start talking/researching what others have done.

Cuz..this will come up once they start shipping, why not get ahead of it a little in information and tactics on what we might wanna do.

Hey Jeff,

Just back from SIT and saw your thread. I am getting ready to head out to Sharktoberfest, so will have limited time to monitor this thread until next week.

However, you can embed almost any software in Centrafuse or RideRunner, so SharkTuner, SharkPlotter, and Innovate Logworks can all be embedded to provide some visual feedback. Alternatively, you can use an input system like Phidgets or FusionBrain to monitor analog and digital sensor, and they can be cleanly integrated with alarms in Centrafuse with a plugin like LogoDashboard. This guy has some really nice plugins for interfacing with external input boards, and worth a peek:

Thanks

If this is the case, then would Theo Jennikens DT999 work on this? It runs off of a standard PC. I havent had a chance to use my diagnostic tool yet so I would imagine that I can have it plugged in full time and only access it when i need it. Does it affect the vehicle/internal computers by having it plugged in all the time?

Yes, essentially any windows sofware can be embedded in the host application. It will however not have the aesthetics of the host application. If you want it to look really pretty, then you either need software which can be skinned (like Logworks) or use a plugin like LogoDashboard and a compatible input card.

Thanks
Hans

Good timing Jeff - Centrafuse just announced their V4.0 release this morning. Has support for Linux too now, which could be a good way to reduce the cost of the system (although it wouldnt support some features like Shartuner).
