Default OEM or Replica wheels - how to tell?

Is there a simple way to tell if a wheel is OEM or replica? I thought that if the offset numbers were stamped around the valve stem they were OEM. Am I right?

Thanks in advance,

It's a tell, but not a hard & fast rule.

Looks for Porsche P/N's cast into the backside.

The offset and width isn't cast/stamped next to the valve stem. I saw a set of 16" phonedials on a 951 the other day that didn't have the #'s cast/stamped on them.

Offset and width is a fairly new thing, around 2000 and onwards. Porsche part number is the only real way to tell.

I can't comment pre-1990, but the factory D90 and later Cup I and Cup II wheels for the 928 all had width and ET next to the valve stem. Agreed on the part number as the primary way to tell.

Phone dials and flat disks do not have width and ET info next to valve hole, at least most of them don't. D90, Cup and turbo twist variations have it.
