Default nogoly wire upgrade?

One of many upgrades Im considering doing over the winter! Anyone have any hard or a least seat of the pants data?

At first I was thinking of doing the whole SuperCharger route, I do love the car, the way it looks, the looks it gets, etc, etc, lol. But common $$ense is sinking in!

Hi

I have Nology wires on mine, they fit and work fine, but forget the "earth strap" improvement its total bs... the other problem with mine was they were "meant" to be blue, but the wires are around half blue and the rest black, and the blue bits are hidden under the spider legs lol

I think the red ones are ALL red though if it helps..

They also wont fit the standard 928 wire holders...

All the best Brett

Thanks, not sure if I'll go this route if they don't do anything noticeable......
I'll look, and I'm sure find, other ways to blow money on this baby.

IMHO the upgrade is using new stock wires.
I have a set of the Nology wires and wish I had Beru, but five years ago they were out of stock at the time.
They work ok, but you are not going to get any improvement over stock.

Certainly not an upgrade in my book.

If Jim Mayzurk took them off his 5 speed GTS and replaced them with a Beru set he might just be able to keep up with my GTS auto - chances are he won't read this 8>)

Had Nologies on my '85 for a bit. Not a fan, on the two sets that I went through, the terminals easily detached from the core and the insulation was prone to splitting/tearing.

Tried their coils on a few applications too...had difficulty getting clarity between retailers and NOlogy regarding which part number would operate at the proper impedence. Ran a couple with no other problems- and no perceived gains in the way that it ran, either. With both Jacobs (my old '05) and MSD (my current Euro) ignition units (and coils), however, I could discern a difference.

I had the Nology wires for a few years, same problem with terminals easily detaching during plug changes/inspections. Quite disappointed.

Went to a Beru set, no further issues.

There are MANY other ways to blow upgrade $$$$ on these beasts, trust me!

Oh Roger, you dreamer you. You've never seen my car in your rear view mirror.

No improvement in performance or economy, bling factor only. I bought them because they were RED!

Nology. They do back up their warranty.

But it sucks when you break the metal connector off when removing the wires from the didtributor cap.

They will replace it for free, but you have to send it in and wait for the return to you.

Usually takes less than a week.

Gave up using them, went to Magnacor. Never a problem.

And yes the braided ground strap might look cool to some people but I noticed no diffrence grounded or not.
