Default '93 GTS 5-spd speedo and abs problem

On a short drive to the post office this morning I noticed my abs/traction control failure light and the speedometer along with average mpg display were not working. I also noticed the cruise control did not work. I went over some bumpy railroad tracks near the post office and everything started to work a gain and the abs failure light went off. After turning the car off and starting it again at the post office and on the return trip everything was in failure mod again.

Is this a ground problem or electrical connection issue?

The car hasn't been driven in 4 or 5 weeks before this event and a battery tender has been plugged in.

As I recall the GTS uses a rear wheel ABS sensor to signal the speedo ....counts teeth. There are connections plugs in the spare tire well. (the 1990 car, first with PSD, used the left front ABS). Perhaps others will confirm which one to be checking.

The PSD dif has no alloy wheel with magnets as I recall the clutch assembly uses that space instead.

I'm having a similar issue with my 91 gt. Though running over bumps won't get it working again.

IIRC, these cars use the ABS sensor in the Front left to feed signals to the PSD,ABS and speedo.

Sounds to me like you have a short or loose connection. I'd start with abs sensor and work back following the trace to the gauges.
It could be ground but instinct says it's a powered wired coming loose, another thought could be that it's a relay on the way out, but I think that's unlikely.

Unfortunately, I don't have the ABS issue lights anymore, and I've switched the relay. I still have the no psd, no RDK errors in the dash and no speedo, So I'm going to have to remove the seats and check the accelerometer, I guess. Hoping it's not the $peedo relay.

Keep us posted.

ABS sensor use started in '91 MY. First front sensor was used and later in GTS rear wheel sensor.
