I was under the happy impression that the L-jets never failed. Reality slaps me in the face again.

The 944 AFM sure looks VERY similar...but the pins are slightly different....and the output of the 928 AFM is resistance from a few different points and resistance for temp.....

What is the AFM? Never heard that term used. air flow meter?

I'd have been surprised if the pinouts were the same, but I figured the location might be.

As for the output, if the temp sensor has a resistance-based temp value, why would the part's output be different for the 928 (or any other application)?

All the barn-door Bosch Air Flow Meters I've seen look a lot alike. I don't expect them to be interchangeable but isn't it easier and more manufacturing efficient for Bosch and the end-user to adjust the software maps to the output than manufacture a _lot_ of almost/otherwise identical devices with different outputs?
