Default Recondition Vacuum HVAC controls

So I've heard there are no longer replacements
for the HVAC vacuum controls on my 82 Euro 928S.

I've tested my large center console one and I can
get it to move with vacuum standalone, but
it doesn't want to return.

I'm not sure if the rubber is just not supple enough
or the spring inside is just not springy enough?

Any suggestions to bring it back to life?

thanks,

Mike

I believe Greg Brown has reconditioned HVAC control units.

The double diaphragm unit used in the earlier cars is the problem. Unit is not available and if it were they wanted $150. I am tryingh to find a source for the smaller diapragm used in the double unit.

Sounds like one diapragm is bad so it does not return.
This is on the center flap or comb.

I think its the center flap -- it's the dual that is connected to the center console.

largest one -- I can get it to retract by sucking on it -- it just binds up and won't
return unless I pull or blow air into it.

Could just be the spring?

I still haven't figured out what the upper right hand small one is supposed
to be connected to -- it doesn't function -- but it was connected to anything either.

Probably some PO hack -- that I haven't figured out how to unhack.
