Default how to make a light 928 racer

start with a factory body in white (BIW)! FYI - not actually white, but zinc plated.

FS - 1983 BIW, without doors, fenders or rear hatch or hood - chassis only - nothing on it. Best offer - pm me. Pick up in north CA. AS IS WHERE IS.

Was going to become "SlipStream" chassis for very high speed 928, but not enough time, too many projects.

I had my parts car down to the shell and even the scrap yard didn't want to pay for it. Had them take it for free.

No vin

Probably right on "selling like hotcakes", however only those who value their time over scraping away undercoating, disassembling very nut and bolt, only to reinstall 5% of the removed components will appreciate the value. The real question is what is 100 hours of your time worth?

Not to mention, the possibility of having an incredibly light "street car"!

I'm not following the vin no vin thing. If the chassis has the vin removed isn't that a federal crime or something?

Marc, I remember seeing the BIW in the old shop...is it non-sunroof? (can't remember that detail...) Say "hi" to Susan for me

Body in white = no vin from factory.

Hi Richard,

Same one, just no time anymore for projects, so time to let someone else play with the toys!

Thanks....will do!

I do not know about CA, but the BIW should have came with a Certificate of Origin, if you have that from the factory you should be able to get a title for it in most states.
Or so I have been told.

It would be nice to build one without that undercoating. You could even weld seems without that stuff oozing out of every crevice. You just can't scrape that stuff away and be done with it.
