Returned from the tire shop this morning, they rechecked the c/v assys., the rear end lube, and checked the rear tires on their Force Variation machine that will tell if the tire has flat spots or out of round conditions and rebalanced them. No real defects found. One tire needed to be relocated on the wheel 180 degrees. After the check ride, no difference. I will use my friends rear tires soon for a test. If no change then I must assume the axle bearings are at fault. Doesn't seem to be any real tests for this condition. I will report back after the tire/wheel swap. It seems this vehicle is subject to a lot of road noise as per discussions about using heavy noise insulation which I have none of in the back under the carpet. Could it be "normal" road noise coming from there? Marty
