I have the GT muffler, x pipe and the large resonators. I would love to have the smaller resonators then I believe it would be perfect for my taste. At the moment, it sounds mean when you step on it, but rather subdue otherwise.

The used one?? Also would this be the best muffler to use or are there other ones such as MagnaFlow Series? Final Question, this muffler with straight pipes, would it sound nice?

What would be the best muffler for Porsche 928 S4 88' from here?

Also how would that sound compared to a standard RMB?

I agree. Before you spend money on making it sound "cool", get the car running to spec. Find someone with a hammer and test your sensors as listed in a previous post. Anything before that is like putting three rims on an 84 caprice classic, very ghetto.

More to your question about loudness....once you modify any part of the exhaust it changes the level of sound and the resonance that you hear. There is no set answer to how will it sound because that is too subjective.
Just be aware that if you put Hotrod mufflers of any flavor on the car it will quickly sound much like a Camero or 69 Chevy Pickup with a rusted out exhaust. You are dealing with a musical instrument so imagine cutting up a Tuba and adding subtracting replacing a few pieces......most who "roll there own" end up doing a few modifications along the way.

Cheapest way to add meanness to your exhaust is to drill about 1/2" hole in the side of each pipe.
I mean, it's part sarcasm and part truth, I have the stock muffler on mine, untouched, added an X-pipe with no cats, and the thing sounds like it'll eat your children. Part of it's the x, I'm sure, but a big part is I think the sleeves are leaking where it joins together.
I also had a Jeep Cherokee 4.0L back in the day and it sounded vicious. Turned out part of the exhaust had rusted about a 1" hole in it.
So for cheap sound, seriously, drill a hole or two. If you don't like it, those muffler sleeve things like the xpipe used should seal it up fine.

It was perfect with the same setup with a H instead of the X.
I need to try and find a some kind of muffler that will tone it down just a bit, cause I know when I get the blower installed it is going to be way to loud.

My .02c
1 make sure the car is running 100%
2. add RMB and drive for a while. If too quiet, get some small resonators and see how that sounds.
3. have a knowledgeable 928 fanatic look at and drive your car for another opinion.
