To other 1979 928 Porsche owners, do the instrument pod lights come on with the ignition switch being turned on? They do on mine.
I was wondering if this is the way they're wired or if this is something a previous owner modified. The pod lights aren't very bright, I've verified that both back light bulbs are functioning.

There are actually 3 bulbs, one between each dial, down low. The center one involves partially dismantling the pod to get to.
You can put in brighter bulbs (I did, some work but worth it). Also clean the rheostat by spraying WD40 on it and moving it back and forth a few times. Use a rag to catch the WD40.
And yes, they come on w/ the key.
