Seatbelt loose
On my '81 the driver side seat belt will not retract all way when released. I have had it out and opened it and it just seems a bit too long. By that I mean the belt is wound around spindle to the point the belt is touching the base.
I bought a used belt off ebay from an '82 thinking it may be a bit shorter in length or wound tighter. Unfortunatley it is the exact (and I mean exact) same length as my original.
Both will pull out and ratchet as designed (actually kindo of interesting how the bearing inside works) but both are just too long. It really bugs me that it will not retract to hold tight like the passenger side (or how both do on my '86.5) and I am not sure where to go now. Hopefully someone here will have an idea or have ran into this before and fixed it.
I was going to take pictures of removal and disassembly but found my husky had decided to use camera as a chew toy
