Right on, Roger!
They key here folks, whether flat or curved, is the lens pattern.
The ones Roger is selling at a great great price for new is... they have an optimal lens pattern for focussed lighting.
The lens pattern is very similar to the 8" Bosch H4's, except in 7".
The other exception is the price compared, where the 8" Bosch can run $175 each, new.... on a good day.
You really don't want to know what they cost on a bad day. Seriously folks, this is a very deal on something that doesn't come available new very often.
Again, Roger, thanks for making these available!
Let me know if you need any help with marketing.
You KNOW I'm kidding....

Roger - I don't get your question. Why don't you just discount everything I plan to buy in the next six months and be done with it

Roger, do you have the big 8" H4s lenses that are the same as my car except for a LHD car.
How much?

Me too on the 8" H4's.

Randy--

Big bulbs in the H-5's stretch the wiring capacity a lot, and just make the shapeless blob a little whiter. They don't last very long. Buy a set of Silverstars for the same effect and no wiring/socket issues.

Roger,
I need a passenger side parking/fog light (for a '90). Is that the left or the right (not sure if looking from the back or the front)?

If that is one of the lights that is part of your special, please count me in.

Thanks
Glenn

Roger any chance of a picture of the 7" lights? Are they plug and play with a pre 86?

To elaborate on danglerb's question:

I'm considering the H4 as an upgrade to the sealed beams on my 81 928 US. My goal here is better lighting and an esthetic that does not include the chrome trim ring.

From the PDF version of the PET, it looks like I may also need a "Protective Cap" 928 631 923 00, two "Bolts" 928 631 202 02 and possible two "Supports" 928 631 201 02.

I cannot tell from the PET if the wiring connector is different.

Will you please tell me if this conversion is practical and what I will need to purchase in order to accomplish it.

Thanks!

David,
Been discussed before. Do a search for "H4" or "H4 conversion".

The cliffnotes are it is plug and play. No biggie. There is one modification which require no more than a simple tool.

When fitted to my cars these 7" H4 lights were plug and play.
They do not negate the chrome trim and you will need 8" H4's to do that.

Currently H4 8" are cheaper than H5 8". Both are hard to find wholesale but available from Porsche.
H4 8" are $329 each and H5 8" are $400 each - read and weep.

Stretch?

Why are the Silverstars better?

How about these, Bob?

Sorry to hijack, Rog.

Randy,
Stretch as in put too much load through the wires than they should be taking.

Silverstars work better for light as they are made for 11 or something volts, then when you put more through them, they are brighter. But their load is pretty much the same as a standard 55w60
