Throttle position sensor for electromotive tech gt
Has anyone got this setup working on an '87+ vehicle? I had a sensor from Carl but the rotation was backwards. I flipped it around and drilled out the back of the case and it worked for a time, but now evidently that TPS is broken ands needs to be replaced. Id rather replace with a correct unit if I can. I ordered a bosch part mostly out of wishful thinking, but if anyone knows what I ought to be using, I'd love to know.
Thanks in advance

My TPS is ok but I got a map for a boosted car, mine is not.
I went to the electromotive forum
http://electromotivetec.freeforums.org/index.php
and they sent me another, for a price, but I am tired of dealing with 928MS

I've always avoided those because they look like cheap crap that is going to do what it did to you. They are handy to use in generic kits though!
I use a Bosch 0 280 122 001, it's a CW sensor when viewed from the throttle shaft. It's a quality oem part but doesn't have the generic slotted holes for universal fitting like yours. That means you'll have to use the mounting holes it has.
Have you tried to ask Carl to send you a replacement for the POS?

The pots we use on the ST Alpha are high quality Hall effect devices and are available in LH or RH rotation. They have slots for angular adjustemnt. Available from Jenvey.

Carl has been having trouble with his distributor, apparently, and whether it's his fault or not, I don't want to wait for Carl to be the middleman, only to find out it's the wrong sensor. I can screw it up well enough on my own, and it will be faster in the end
Thanks for all the tips. That is the Bosch unit I bought, it's supposed to arrive today, so I'll take it out to my spare intake and check the fit before I pull the intake apart. I will be thrilled if it fits and works. Otherwise I will check out jenvey.
Thanks again!

We have the correct ones in stock now. Because they are imported, we were having some difficulty getting the right rotation in our hands, but no more. It would be no trouble for me to send one out to you.

Thanks Carl. I got the Bosch unit in today and it looks like it ought to work. Rotation and resistance gradient appear correct, so I'll try hooking it up and seeing how electromotive handles the sensor. If it works, then Ill just stick with it since I have it in hand, else I will give you a call

It turns out that somehow my TPS came unplugged. It's back to working, but it would appear that that Bosch TPS should work, for those who need to source a replacement. 0 280 122 001 is the part number, as Mike said.
