Default Lower Headlight Covers ??

On my '85, the PO upgraded to H4 headlights. I got the lower covers in the box of misc. parts. I can't sort out how they would attach...did the mounting points go away with the light upgrade? Any help is appreciated.

I don't remember any difference in attaching the covers on 7" or 8" lights.

What lower covers?

For H4's there is no need to change anything but the lamps & maybe the connectors. no need to swap yokes (though some talk about it) cetainly no need to change any body parts (except use of trim ring for 7" & not for 8").

If it is a Euro setup, I can post some pictures, my set is out of the car now so perhaps it will show you the answers you need...

The parts I'm trying to find a home for are #15 in the diagram. "cover headlamp casing lower".

Well, I am puzzled right now because these parts are not on my car. But I can understand their purpose. It keeps the lenses from fauling up on wet roads I guess. Sort of a splash screen.

Did your '85 come with the (M470) spoiler delete option? (From '83, spoilers were standard.)

If you have spoilers then those covers are not installed. 2 & 8 will also be shaped differently than in the diagram.

Right #15 sits at the bottom of the fender....far from the headlight and ONLY on no spoiler cars. Plus they are often missing, first time I saw one I was wondering what it was.....but it does seal off the fender.

They look just like the diagram, made of the same plastic as the splash shields.

I had (an abused, non-running) '80 for a short time which had them.

So their installation is unrelated to H4's?

Really related to the type of fender splash shields fitted? never seen these

PorKen nailed it-- it's a spoiler car, so they would be NA-- great info-- thanks
