Default Run PET 7.2 on 64bit Windows 7

My very clever wife Zane worked out how to run Pet 7.2 on my new 64bit Windows 7 computer.
You need Windows 7 Professional (not home edition) and the ability to run Windows XP mode.
Attached are the instructions.
Enjoy

Well the file is slightly to big to upload.
email me at roger@928sRus.com and I will send it to those who want it.

Hi All

Roger is correct...to run PET 7 (any version) in 64 bit Windows 7 , you need to run Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode....

You cannot get those for Windows 7 Home Premium OR Windows 7 Basic OR Windows 7 Starter Edition.

You can get them both if you run Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate edition...

For those two versions ONLY its a free download... FROM HERE >>> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/vir.../download.aspx

All the best Brett

Has anyone installed an instance of PET 7.2 on a 64 bit OS that they did not use "Windows XP Mode".

Hi

Not tried 7.2 ...but tried 7 and 7.1 and no way would they work normally.... I seriously doubt 7.2 would work in 64 bit Windows 7 apart from in XP Mode...sorry...

There's a hacked version of 7.0 around somewhere on the net that will run in 64-bit Win7 (Home Premium 64-bit is what I have on my main desktop, and I have the hacked PET installed). It won't update (so doesn't have the latest part numbers for stuff thats been superceded like cam sprockets), but it works well enough.

My garage PC runs 32-bit so I can use 7.2 on it
