<------- calculating ....... ........

You must be using an abacus, because something is not adding up.

My vote is for selling the 993 and paying Greg Brown to turn the S4 engine into a stroker. No unhappy customers that have done that... The S4 gearbox with 2.20 rear end would be perfect for that kind of power.

You will need to look long and hard to find a GTS in that condition with those miles without paying a fortune...

You know how especially rare great condition manual GTS cars are right?

To me it'd just not be worth it - enjoy what you have...

Imagine you buy what looks like a great GTS and then discover some significant issue... you'd be worse off - devil you know & all...

The Amazon Green one I quoted a few posts back fits the bill perfectly and I think is properly priced at $47k! He need not look for more than a few seconds to find the perfect replacement. But if color is going to be a big factor then he could look forever and never find the "right" GTS... they only brought in 407 (or 426 or whatever the number is) of them.

James, I think the OP (Sean) is a 5sp guy. Great, great GTS that Amazon Green one is.... I wouldn't trade it for my S4 5sp.

Ah, missed that... Sorry rol607, you are out of luck. You won't find a GTS 5spd in that kind of condition with those miles for less than $10k more than that price and maybe more than that... Shift the auto by hand and you won't even miss the 5spd but to each his own. Not to mention you get to keep the extra money over the auto in your pocket.

Sorry but the automatic experience just reminds me too much of the airport shuttle bus ........whaaaa whaaaa ...wheee bwaa behe whaaa . As it slides into a taller gear and lurches forward........ Is it going to shift, when is it going to shift, do I have any compression braking, will it down shift in the middle of a corner.... Sure you can stir the shift lever and trick it into acting kinda sorta like a manual but desirable...NOT ! And the values reflect that.....
