Default '86.5 with Corvette headlights

Just needs a Chevy engine...

Doesn't look too bad...matches the square bumper lights.

Somehow almost looks like they are on the wrong sides. Neat that someone followed through on the notion.

When slope nose 911s were the rage a few 928s also got the treatment.....some used Mazda lights as I recall.

It looks sleepy with missing front teeth.

Back in the 80s, cocaine made everything possible.

Default Thread revival!

Porken,

Do you remember how much this sold for on eBay, and whether the Ebay ad actually stated that they were corvette lights?

This is the same car on Craigslist near me right now and on another thread, which I can't link to right now.

Thank you in advance!

Horrible... Takes away the iconic look of the 928. Cocaine in deed.

Carlos - no idea, sorry.

How much are they asking for it now?

I think this is the car we're talking about.
They're asking 2000$.

I wonder why the headlights are always up? (Too much silicone? )

I'm not sure that Chinese water pump is a good investment.

Thanks, Ken. Didn't know if "Corvette Headlights" came from the actual ad or was just your descriptive label.

Yep, that's the one, $2000 now. Engine compartment seems to always look off, and it looks like some of the organ pipes have been swapped out.

Good question on why we don't seem to find pictures with the lights closed. And, yes, the Chinese water pump was noted in the other thread.

I tried to go look at it today, but it didn't work out. Ah, well, the mystery continues on who did the conversion and how.

Looks more like Fiero lights, or some other flip-up light. Unlike any Corvette lights I've seen before.

Common problem among C3 Corvettes, more here from a Corvette forum:

Check every hose on the headlight system, could be as simple as one that fell off. Especially check the control hoses on the 2 diverting valves that are under the hood surround between the headlight actuator cans. Each headlight can has 2 vacuum ports, the ones that face forward cause the headlights to go up, the onces facing the rear cause them to go down. If you have a hand held vacuum pump I would suggest you test each can. apply vacuum to the rear port of each, once the headlight is down the can should hold vacuum. If it fails to hold the diaphragm is shot and the can will need to be replaced. If it holds, check the front ports. Once the headlight is up the front ports should hold vacuum, if they don't it's a simple fix to replace the "witch's hat" seal on the actuator. Here's a link to more info on the vacuum system:
