He guys, I have a 85 928. The rear hatch wont open and the wont work with the key either(Key does not fit the lock). is there a way to open it manual from the inside? Thanks Paul

I use an open end wrench. There is the 'bar' that snaps onto the motor and the hatch release pivot. Using the open end wrench, hook the little pin that snaps into the 'bar' and snap it down. You are duplicating the action of the release motor by applying downward pressure on the pin. This will release the rear hatch.
