Default Thermostat Replacement, '80 my

Does the "Thermostat Seal" exist in an '80 my?

I plan on replacing my thermostat and already have on hand a new thermostat and O-ring. In reading the various posts here on Rennlist I have been lead to believe that there is a seal pressed into the water bridge and the thermostat seats against this seal. Recognizing that the car is nearly 32 years old, I would like to just order the part and have it on hand when I swap out the thermostat.

In an effort to identify the part I went thru the PET catalog, the workshop manual and 928 International's website and I am wondering if this part does not exist in the older cars. 928Int'l shows the part as being for an '84-95...

and there is nothing in the WSM....

You also need to be very careful trying to remove the two bolts...they break easily. So soak them with penetrating oil , heat them up with a torch before you try removing them.
