I've read many pages of threads about CIS to try to get my CIS late 82 running, and have learnt a LOT.
However, for the 928 noob, there could be a very helpful starting point:
Without getting into my particular case here, are there any 'rule of thumb', 'ball park' settings for
1) Air/Fuel mixture screw (at front or Fuel Distributor)
2)Idle screw (at front of Throttle Body, just behind the WUR)
Thanks again in advance!!

to get a CIS car started,
turn your adjustment screw clockwise until the injectors start to spray (recommend having them in bottles).
Then turn CCW till the fuel JUST stops, and make another 1/8 turn ccw.
Reinstall injectors and start. May require opening the throttle a little, but it will start.

I would only add that you should disconnect the Bosch connector that goes to the WUR while making this adjustment. The WUR will change the pressure of the fuel entering the fuel dist head when the engine is on, thus changing the point at which the injectors will start spraying. Once the setpoint is reached, put the Bosch connector back on the WUR so that the internal bi-metalic strip warms up as the car warms, and regulates the fuel pressure accordingly.

Docmirror obviously refers to the electrical feed to the WUR, in case its not obvious. Adjusting the mixture screw (SENSITIVE!) to hear/see the injectors open is obviously done while the fuel pump is bridged, and the injectors removed from the inlets. Do you have any pressure readings for system and control?
