Is it me or has Porsche taken so many cues from the 928 in the evolution of the 911. As I look at the rear of the 996 -> 997 -> 991, i can only see an evolution based on the 928S4 rear bumper. The front is sloping more and more and more with the flat hood and getting flatter headlights.

If you look at the 911, it has grown to almost the same dimensions in length, width and even though it is benefitting from the latest technologies in the weight savings department, when fully laden with options, it is only 400lbs lighter than the 928. Anyways, just thoughts that came to my mind as i enjoyed looking at the new 991 pictures.

I recently sat in a new GT2RS and the thing that jumped out at me was that I had no room for my left arm. The 928 ergonomics are still something special all these years later.

Khalloudy- long time we haven't heard from you. How is everything, do you have a running 928 over there?

I don't think it's just you, I've thought about this also, seeing newer models with styling cues that seem to have a good bit of 928 DNA, esp the rear.

Stock 997 is even taller than all 928 variants except '78-79 MY. Only thing still missing is V8 and little more interior space.

Actually, the head lights on the 991 are angled steeper than on the 997. The tail lights are pretty low profile.
