Default Clutch issues

The clutch on the '82 has been gradually (not sure for how long) "losing bite". It's down to 2 to 3 inches of effective range (from floor).

Also, it recently left a puddle of PS fluid. But, the belt isn't even on! Whats up with that?

Any suggestions on what to look for are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Denny

Replace the flex line for the clutch, along with the blue hose and get all the air out of it to start!

I’ve been procrastinating bleeding and driving it anyway. It’s seemed to have been getting worse but didn’t grind.

Then, last night, it “fixed itself”! It feels completely normal now.

What are the chances of air working out on its own?

Or,

Is there something else going on that will come back and bite me later?

Get a master cylinder and slave cylinder while you're at it. You're a dice roll away from being stranded. It's had a good life. Let it retire.
