After an emissions test on the GT a few years ago, the emissions guy joked that the air coming out was cleaner than the air going in. I'm happy to say that I'm still doing my part to purify the air in the Atlanta metro area. This is sans smog pump. I bet it would pass the sniffer test with an Xpipe and no cats but every place I've been to around here sticks the mirror underneath to make sure the cats are there.

I'm pretty sure they're the original cats. Do you think they really still make that much difference? They were even filled with water during the flood. Worst case, it wouldn't be that hard to reinstall the original exhaust for that special occasion once a year.

Sounds like the engine is in great shape, but I wonder about the 0.00% CO. I had the same thing with my first 928 - an '85 S3 Auto. It could not be made to run rich enough (per factory manual). On that car I had verified fuel pressure, cleaned injectors, and tried adjusting the MAF. It ran well enough, but was probably a bit down on power. I never did find out why it was so lean.
