Maybe its just me but I just have a hard time believing a recent graduate would be able to capture the spirit of the 928 which was designed before they were even born. Probably never even driven one before.
Also, in order to keep the same lineage of a 928, it should at least keep some of the lines the old ones had. I don't see that.
When Ford brought back the GT, it closely resembled the original design with subtle updates and maintained its spirit but had newer technology. I would hope they do the same with the 928.

I believe there are two things this new model will not have:
- The 928 name (all recent Porsches had a real name, such as Cayman, Cayenne, Carrera, Bosxter)
- A close resemblance to the original 928. Porsche doesn't see our cars as a success; it is unlikely they will try to build a retro-design based on something that wasn't successful in their minds.

I used to own a 929 (Mazda) and although I really liked the car, I hope they do not name the new model "929" since that name is already associated with Mazda. I agree with Nicole, it probably won't have a number name. Interesting that the Mazda 929, at least the last generation, also had dual length intake runners with a flappy valve.

I'm counting on Panamera resale values to sink like 928's did -- and I can pick up a used on for @30k in 3 or 4 years. No I wouldn't ever sell my 928. I'd get the Panamera as my DD.
