You would need the missing hinge pieces and the white socket from a broken headlight.....you can rivet on the socket.

I suppose I could take the existing pieces from my assemblies including riveting a new ball (drilling out the old ones), removing the inside adjustment cable. If I really work at this I am positive that I can get it so neither one works , 7 or 8

One of the guys I work with has a Ducati Monstro. Parked next to the 928 it's pretty easy to notice the similar 8" headlights. I took a closer look at the Monstro's headlight and it is actually marked SAE, DOT, and H4 (also Motorcycle, though).
