Default Phone dial refurb in Norcal. Suggestions?

I pick-up my fully painted car next week and the next project after replacing all the exterior seals and bits is to get the phone dials and center caps restored to factory specs. I've heard there is a good shop in Oroville, CA., but I don't have any info other than that. Anyone know about this shop or have any other suggestions?

Also, wheelenhancement.com has refurbs for sale: http://www.wheelenhancement.com/inde...elDetail&id=15

Anyone have any experience working with them?

I guess you have to decide first whether to get the painted or powdercoated.

The color you are looking for is Wurth silver.

Painted, I think. I DIY'd it once myself with the Wurth silver and clear coat from cans. Not happy.

The company in Oroville is called Weidmann's wheels, I believe.

There is another wheel refinisher somewhere on the East Bay, but I can't recall the name or city. I wonder, if the guys at PartsHeaven might know them.

The refinishing companies don't just paint, they also make sure the wheels are 100% straight. Given the age of these cars, and the many potholes they have seen in the Bay Area, it might make sense to have a full refinishing done.

Cost per wheel is usually about $140-180, but may vary depending on wheel type and condition.

If you go the powdercoat route, look up PORSCHE SILVER, PMS 439 from NIC Industries

I had mine powder coated. Not sure of the exact color, but I love them, and they hold up very well - very easy to clean. I hand painted my center caps myself. Whole thing looks good.

Cool. Thanks for the pics. If you don't mind telling... what did you pay for the powdercoating?

I had mine blasted at American Stripping in Sacramento. It was reasonable and they as always did a nice job. I forget the exact charge. Just down the street is a powder coating place. American Stripping will take deliveries and will hand carry the wheels to the powder coating place. I have never used the powder coating place as I have my own set up.

I also discovered recently that Mercuric will rapidly eat away the anodized coating on metals including the cadmium plating on Porsche bolts.

Eastwood as well as most body shop supply places sell a pin stripe enamel that is designed for hand painting.

I had mine powder coated a few years ago. IIRC, it was less than $500 for the set of four.

For stripping and powder coating, I paid $65 per wheel.

I thought that was pretty good...the job is solid, and I couldn't have done it. Another shop locally quoted me $50 per wheel, but they did not have the same reputation.

Sounds super cheap, IMO. I've heard it's likely to cost me ~$200 per wheel.

I've had a few wheels straightened & repainted at Rite Way in Walnut Creek and have been happy with their work:

Jose is the guy to talk to. It won't be as cheap as the folks above outside the Bay Area but if you bring cash, you can negotiate.

For a quality PC job I'd think 110/wheel Max. Unless they're in really bad shape.
