Doing some sunroof adjustment (89' S4) and was curious as to what a certain screw adjusts......
(Pic taken from a thread athenian started......)

I know the nuts on the left and right adjust the roof height (the rear nut is missing in the pic above), but what does the screw in the middle do? It looks like it can sit either to the left or right, depending on where you put it when you tighten it.
Also, I was adjusting the big flat-head adjustment screw (the one that is inbetween the two bolts that hold the sunroof to the hinge) and the passenger side does not adjust anymore - it just turns and turns. Any way to fix this?

IIRC,
I controls when the guide pin (just to the left of the screw, in this pic) stops in guide block. This controls when the back side of the sunroof "kicks up".
The screw should be a slight fore-aft adjustment (not in-out).
This is from memory, so bear with me...

After looking at the big slotted screw closer - it appears the end of it may have snapped off?
Is it possible to snug the front of the roof by using additional washers on the two bolts that attach the sunroof to the hinges?

Yea, that screw breaks easily. It's basically an adjustment "shim" for the front edge of the sunroof.
