Question Simple dash light question for 1987 S4

I've searched and looked at lots of these LED dash light threads but.....I can't find the simplest piece of information.

When I bought my car it had some of the dash converted to LEDs. What is supposed to light up on the dash stock? Some of my pod switches don't light, the HVAC slides? etc.

I saw pictures of later GTS cars with these things lit up and could not tell if these should light in my year, was this a later revision? Or something someone modified to light.

Here are some bad pictures of my dash lights. (could not get the tripod to hold still enough).

All five switches in the pod are supposed to light-up. IT looks like the bulbs in some of yours are burnt out.

Your console is illuminated as intended. The fan **** is not illuminated. You could upgrade the clock to blue LED as well.

The sliders on the HVAC control unit are meant to light up too - however to do it with LED's you need to pretty much use extra LED's for each fiber-optic cable.

Also - all pod switches light up with the lights on. With the lights off, just the headlight switch should be lit (at least on S4's)

Thanks guys. That helps!

So can I change the burnt out pod switch lights from the front? Would be nice to have everything light up.

How about a short to medium answer

Do the ***** just pull off, then unscrew of some nature to reach the back of them?

Just gently pull the black rubber of each switch towards the back of the car and they will slip off the switch. The light bulb will be right there facing you. It'll be a wedge type bulb. Gently grasp the bulb and pull it straight out. Replacement will just be reverse of disassembly. You should not not any problems at all.
