Default Horn problem on 93

I'm having a problem with the horn on my 93 and I was hoping someone out there has a suggestion or two on what I need to do.

The horn buttons seem to be fine. The problem seems to be with the pin and ring connection. As I turn the wheel, the horn will beep at just one spot. While holding the airbag (still plugged in) off to the side, when I wiggle the pin the horn will work, but as soon as I turn the wheel, it stops working except for that one place.

I've taken the wheel off and used a scotchbrite pad to clean the copper ring and the end of the pin. I then put a very thin layer of dielectric grease over the ring and sprayed the pin mechanism with lubricant. The spring seems to have plenty of tension when I pull it back, and I can hear it snap into place.

If someone out there has had this problem and fixed it, please tell me how you did it.

Greg
