So Wiki tells me he needs to drop off a 911 he has just completed a tranny rebuild on and would I follow him to the center of Nashville to make the drop. I say sure no problem, unbeknownst to him, its the first time I've driven my 928-SPI-S3 since TB, tires were done. The winged #22 911 belonged to Denny Long (IMSA GT fame) and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. "Follow" was easy enough to verbalize, to do is a whole different story. Bobbing and weaving, two black P cars during noon traffic. Exciting for me having never attempted speeds or dynamics of this sort in my 928. Hugging the outside of the off ramp, diving into the apex, accelertating out. Kept thinking to myself, man the oil needs to be changed, or is my tranny going to blow.....
Made it unscathed, thanks to Wiki and Denny for the experience and the lunch.
Yes I've got a few pictures, but I know how you all get posting 911 pics on your thread. Just a feel good, nothing is wrong, everything was right post.

My first "real" ride in a 928 was when I was looking at one if Ft Worth for purchase. The owner would only let me drive around in the neighborhood, but did take me out in 5 o'clock Ft Worth traffic. He hit speeds of over 120 and talked about driving from Ft Worth to Baton Rouge in well under 2 hours. I would have been frightened for my life except for the owners completely relaxed and casual posture and attitude, the seat was reclined, he had one hand on top of the wheel, and was mostly turned towards me in the passenger seat telling me how great the car was and how well he kept it maintained to be able to be driving the way he was...weaving through traffic like a maniac. Before the ride I wouldn't have believed he could make it across Ft Worth and Dallas let alone all the way to Baton Rouge in under two hours. After the ride it seemed very possible.
