Missed the fun run, but got home safe and sound after a "liesurely" run back home to AZ. Got horrible mileage there and back (14.5-15 MPG) and thanks to Greg Brown, Bill Ball, Adam and others advice I'll be trying out a new O2 sensor real soon.

Great job Mark on another successful Sharktoberfest! Thanks also to Connie for all registrations, Joe for great accommodations, Rob for great event coordination and along with Jim Corenman terrific Sharktuning tech session, Greg Brown for great tech sessions and Dan for the cool mugs (and cool hugs as "Danna" for the evening raffle winners... you had to be there...).

Lots of fun to see old friends and meet new ones, although I know I missed a few people I know I want to meet (Constantine how'd I miss you?). Really nice to see Dan Bise again (even without a 928) knowing he's one of the true pioneers and "architects" of Sharktoberfest.

I know it would be tough to do, especially with people both coming and dropping out at the last minute, but it would be cool to have some kind of sign up list or roster to see who's at the event while you're there too. That way, you could meet up with even more people you've been wanting to put a face and name together.

Oh yea, the 928's were pretty cool too!

Well, I made it back to the NW late this afternoon through the rain. Amazed at how smooth and easy the drive was given the distance, these really are great cars for the highway.

Had a great time at my first Sharktoberfest in my new(ish) 928; thanks Mark, Tony, Connie, Rob, Greg, Jim for all your hard work to put on a great get-together. Really fun spending time with new folks and more time with the NWesterners.

Great bunch of people and cars; overwhelming amounts of information and sensory stimulation. Thanks to everyone who patiently answered all my questions.

Looking forward to the next one!

Thank You to everyone who attended Sharktoberfest '11! This year was a huge success in my book and I am so proud to have been a part of it. I have to send a shout out to Diane for identifying my need for help, offering her assistance and doing an amazing job at the 'Welcome To Sharktoberfest' booth, You're Awesome. Also, Thanks to Matt for running the raffles. He asked if he could help 'a little' at Sharktoberfest and thankfully while I was busy selling 928 Motorsports products, Matt took the initiative and ran the raffle. He did such a great job, I asked him to do it at the dinner too He said everyone made him feel very welcome and really enjoyed making so many new friends (MAYBE he will even let us get a 928).

With the help of everyone who attended, the people who donated items towards the raffle and an anonymous last minute $50 donation, we collected exactly $1,000.00! All of the funds will be sent to Give Kids The World. I would like to send a great big THANK YOU to the 928 vendors and others who donated items for this raffle; Hooked On Cars, Pelican Parts, 928 International, 928 Motorsports, Joseph Fan, Paul Champagne, Greg Brown, PorKen and Jerry Feather.

Thank you to everyone who stayed at the Holiday Inn, Diamond Bar and came to the dinner - Sharktoberfest was a huge success because of your attendance! Well, that and the awesome food

I am already looking forward to next year!

Well, I got home very late last night!

It was right around 2200km to go down there from my house.
I had my clutch slave fail just north of Seattle. And then fixed it at the hotel the fri morning.
On the way back I ended up taking route 101 and driving up the coast. It was a much funner route!
I also nipped off and stopped in to see Louie on my way home continuing north through leavenworth.
The trip back home was around 2800km, but much more pleasant.
So all told around 5,000km round trip.
Odo is now 237,xxx miles and shes still going strong!
Less than 2 quarts of oil used with some more spirited driving too.

It was great to finally put some faces to the names, and chat cars with the people there.

Also Tim and Cheryl, I did say hi to Louie for you, and we will be in touch.
GB, thanks again for the plug, and look forward to chatting with you regarding some more of the items that we discussed at the event. As well, thank you for the kind words regarding the camshafts, as we all know these are labours of love!
Jeff, glad we got your window, and door all fixed up!
Dan, its been said many many times, but that car is a beaut! And I am glad that you liked the quick sprint with the cams in the car.
Hans, it was good to meet you and I would have liked to have gotten into more technical discussions with you. We can continue that via email though.
Rog, enjoy those chocolates!

And last but most certainly not least, a big thank you to all those involved with putting this event together!

My first Sharktoberfest and I loved it! Damn if it wasn't over too soon. Thanks to Mark, Connie, Joe, Rob, Greg and everyone else involved in making this such a great event. I'm a 5-speed guy so for me the manual trans tech session was terrific, although learning about the automatic and it's eccentricities was really interesting also. I can't wait till next year.

^Paul must get the award for furthest distance traveled!^ He lives literally halfway around the world!

It was my first Sharktoberfest, and was worth the wait! Many thanks to Mark, Greg, Connie and everyone else who helped make this event happen!

And thanks Andre for the ride from Norcal to Anaheim, thanks Dan for the lift to Phoenix (and thanks to your family for dinner!).

The train ride to El Paso went fine, and the trip from there to SA in the Green Machine was without incident, save for a dead battery.

Erik,

So glad the trip went fine for you. Again, I am sorry I left you in a lurch. Just couldn't make the trip...I was sick the whole weekend and then in to the next week! About the time I was well I sprained my wrist! Man, with this EVER END?!

Don't forget 3rd Coast in Marble Falls next month! Just up the road from you! I'll bring your tools!

^^ No problem James, thanks for the offer in the first place!

Looks like we will have to take this conversation to the Marble Falls stickie, as that's the next event!

Where are the pictures of every one hanging out, drinking, telling lies and looking at cars in the parking lot?

That is the real reason to get a bunch of car guys together.

Oh, those pictures. I think we're supposed to wait until the statute of limitations has expired.
