had a strange effect yesterday.
i have an extra kickdownswitch installed some time ago , bit i didnt used it often
when i hit the pedal to the floor without touching the (stock)kickdownswitch the car accelerated fine,
when going further and give the kickdownswitch a click the car died, oillamp went on and alarmlight on.
this only happend when i touched the kickdownswitch.
i discoverd a loose wire at my extra installed kickdownswitch and this wire could have made groundcontact, i put the wire in a safer place and used the kickdownswitch again to check out if the fault happend again,
the car accelerated fine and shifted down,
anyone had this before?

Somewhere the pks is not wired correctly. Remember that the kick down switch under the gas pedal just bridges the two wires running to it, the pks should do the same.

the switch i installed is a parralel bridge over the original switch,
, i think the wires must have touched ground, it didnt kill a fuse, strange? isnt it
i hope the car shifts nice next time.
i was driving , the fault happend a few times,,,i had seen when driving that a wire was hanging loose,, when i placed the loose wire secure the kickdown worked again.

I don't have wiring digrams handy, but... There are more than a few circuits in the car that have fuses in funny places, like the load side of a relay. No protection for therelay or the excitation circuit for the coil. The kickdown relay may be one of those. So a wire from the switch goes to ground, no protection, and something melts from the excess current flowing. Good thing the engine stopped before something caught fire. Look at the diagrams ans see where it might make sense to add a fuse. Before the smoke leaks out of a harness maybe.
