Default hesitation at downshift

on the way back from sitm i noticed that when the WOT switch is activated and i drop down 2 gears, (running about 40-50 dropping from 4th to 2nd, or slower dropping to first) just after downshift i get a "stutter"... it is a slight drop in rpm for a second then it pulls like normal up to redline..

Before i did not know if it was the rpms were falling, or the trans shifting funny... as when running hard i am watching the road, not the rpms.

today i saw the needle drop a little when it dropped down.

what should i start checking? this is new, just having started after the TBWP job and the trip to SITM.

check the adjustment of the TPS and see if its operating correctly IE click when the throttle closes,
you may have the cable just a half turn too tight and when things warm up the cable is too tight

so.......................
i check for the click without the engine running? just modulate the throttle by hand and listen for a click when the throttle closes?

is there any slack in the Throttle quadrant to TPS actuator?
try turning it half a turn loose..

NOTE this will also have the effect of turning the Bowden cable half a turn tight

holly cow.....
the cable was a little tight, without any play..
i loosened it a little, and what a difference.
drove the rug rat to DQ for a blizzard... seems to shift better. even chirped when it dropped down....

so my question is what did i actually do?

you let the throttle return to idle setting this also returns the TPS to idle setting,
and if you didnt touch the bowden cable adjustment you made it slightly tighter

it made a big difference in the performance... much different than i would have thought for a turn on a cable.
