Risc's engine sat for a few years and developed a head gasket leak that allowed coolant to rust the rings to the cylinder walls (3 cylinders) He was able to unstick 2 of them but the 3 has refused to move, even with a large press. The cylinder walls of the two that were successfully removed are scratched and the amount of work to correct the problem is unknown to the shop where he took the engine. Better 928 engine expertise is not available in Houston and there is serious doubt this block can be saved and the more reasonable solution may well be find a new engine...

I know someone who has a complete motor from an 87, I will ask him if he wants to sell it.

However, having experience buying 928 motors from other sources other than 928 international. I highly recommend you to go ahead and buy a short block or complete motor from them. because they stand behind their engines and warranty them.

Or if you have money you can buy a complete brand new GTS short block from Porsche for around 6000 dollars. Apparently they still have them last I talked to Roger.

I guess I am wondering why another destroyed 928 engine is funny? I don't personally find risc's missfortune to even bring a grin...

and namasgt, thanks for the information. risc would certainly like to hear more on the '87 if it might be available...also, he may already be talking to 928 International...

The response FE = Fvcked Engine was amusing. No one was laughing at his misfortune. Lordy, must be hot down there.
