Ign brain is on driver side in RHD....but power steering is on other side of engine. A foreign device? My ign brain is obviously a cast alloy thing, but its pretty grubby in surface finish, certainly couldnt be described as 'silver'.

I am thinking its the "wiggle" box for an alarm system. Triggers alarm from vibration and sometimes tilt.

Odd that it would have a nice connector of any kind. If its Porsche, someplace on it will be a part number. How about a picture of the mystery part?

You may have to be a paid member to post pics ... can't remember.

Hit the go advanced button just below where you're typing and it'll come up with a list of advanced options like font, bold etc etc .... a little way down you'll see manage attachments ... hit that button and it'll allow you to choose a file on your computer ... then hit upload button. Once you've done that you'll be able to see the image below the text when you hit the preview post button.

Yep... motion sensor for factory alarm. IIRC, the 'nuts' on top may be for adjustment of sensitivity and position...?

Maybe for a turn signal you don't have or ?

Aftermarket alarm, can't see anything like that box coming from Porsche factory.
