now a daily driver...Yeaaaaahhhhh
After three years of keeping my 928 as a broken garage queen I am starting to experience the benefits of driving a 1984 928 to work each day- 60 mile total commute.
Too many benefits to list, but here is short list:
COST:
-the MPG is much better than anticipated, which is just slightly worse than my old E 420 Mercedes
-87 octane fuel is cheaper than 91
-insurance and registration is dirt cheap.
COMFORT:
-rpm comfort, I drive 70 miles per hour or so, well under 2,300 rpm, which is smooth...and relatively quiet.
-seats, my black leather seats are in really good condition and very comfortable for me.

I just retired mine from daily driver. I'm now in the beater Volvo 740, a car I made out of my teenage son's totaled 740 (a month after driving solo) and a shell I bought on Craigslist. Driving these 928 machines every day is, IMHO, the best thing for them. However, it does up the annual cost of ownership, and mine will be taking a break to catch up on some maintenance and fix items. The commute to work is much more boring now.....

agreed..
Good point, I just purchased a 2003 5 series bmw to share the commute, and quite specifically to have another car when the 928 needs attention...
The BMW is very predictable, and comfortable, though not boring, just larger and higher up from the ground. My 5 year old has great taste- her prefers the 928...

Take it to the G-Spot for a burger. People there will like it and you for bringing it there.
