Hey, I think I have these wheels on my car right now in 17" and although i like the design I don't like the chrome look. If you can wait I would be happy to sell you them once I find a replacement for them. I am actively checking ebay and craigslist. If not then you need to be looking for stock 996 wheels. I have the original receipt from a previous owner and he paid $3120, plus I have the receipt from the last owner who replaced the tires last December.

They're commonly referred to as "Boxster twists", but both Boxsters and early 996's had the same wheel design.
The difference is the 996 rears are 17x9 ET55 and the Boxsters are 17x8.5 ET50. Both have 17x7 ET55 fronts.
And the original post shows later 996 style twists - initially on the 996 Turbo (2001), and later (2002-onwards) other 996 models like the C4S. The Turbo wheels are actually hollow spoke and lighter - the regular versions are solid (heavier) but look the same.

Thx Hilton that makes sense, the receipt for mine is from Dec 2000 and state they are the 996 so I suspect that is the case, I will have to double check the offsets

Since chrome was NEVER available from Porsche all chrome wheels were plated later. Al Reed Polishing in Anaheim being one of the more popular sources for chromed wheels. He strips prepares polishes the the wheel but actual plating is done off site. I suspect the "Al 928" was to identify the center caps as being from Al Reed and not the car owners name.
