Default deadbeat ebayer suck.... '91 for sale again!

Second time this happens now... this guy just bid on the car a few hours before and then this.... "some horrible financial issue just came up..."
I wonder what horrible financial issue could arise in a few hours. Some people are just full of it....

Ding him with bad feedback and re-list it. Sorry to hear about that.

I agree, bad feedback is warranted.

I had a similar issue with a guy that strung me along when I was selling my GT. The guy gave me a deposit and said he needed a couple of weeks to get the loan together. A few weeks later the guy was trying to negotiate a lower price because his bank wouldn't loan him enough money. After the 6th week I got fed up and sent his deposit back less the listing fees, relisting fees and the ebay costs. I also took the paypal fees from the deposit. In the end he lost a few hundred and I lost a few weeks because he clicked the BIN button.

Sadly this is all too common. It is too easy to push a button late at night after a drink or two and wakeup "owning" something. Then the reality sets in and they learn that their bank or spouse is not in agreement about the desirability of the purchase. However often when you have to relist/resell potential buyers who saw the first "sale" get worried that something was wrong with the car ! Why did the high bidder not pay ??? So the potential damage can be more than the deposit. There really needs to be more of a cost upfront for people to bid to eliminate some of the current B S.

He emailed and promised to pay for the listing fee. I understand unexpected things do happen, but not in a few hours between bidding and auction close. I just hope the second one in line accepts to take the car...
this really sucks!

Too bad seller's cannot leave negative feedback for buyer's. However, the buyer (even if he didn't follow through) can leave negative feedback for the seller unless the transaction is canceled through eBay b/f that happens. Worst seller can do is, wait a week and file a non-payment case against the buyer...... Kinda sucks for the seller in situations like this!

You can do a second-chance offer if you cancel his bid. Ebay will possibly refund your listing fee.

Dude ! I wished I'd have seen this before. His terrible financial emergency was that he bought my 87 s4 on ebay. I recognized the username as the one that bought my s4 project car.
Fail - not cool - tho I DO like your car I graduated in 91 - would like to see more on it. I'd be more prepared to purchased in a month or so tho.
Best

eBay will also refund on a non payment case.
