Default CIS mod to increase idle with AirCon on

Many years ago I seem to remember a modification to increase the idle a few hundred RPM when the AirCon is turned on.

Mine drops a 100 or so RPM's and I really don't like it to.

I think it was using something like the aux air valve and powering it open with the compressor wire.

I can't find it with the search engine.

Was this on the old mail list?

Anyone remember?

I thought that was the function of the solenoid mounted on the crossbar?
But my memory is increasingly suspect as the years pass.

Thanks much.

I guess this is a retrofit to a '78 model. Mine doesn't have this.

I'll get the info from the PET and put this on my ever diminishing to-do list.

edit: Found it, electric air valve 928 606 215 01

Why did they all not have this?
I've never checked, but I'm guessing the manual cars did not have it and the auto's did?

I stand in the garage and look at her, thinking what can I do next? Yes, I am tempting fate. But other than removing the rear qtrs and re-installing the trim, I'm down to things like on this thread. That's not to say there isn't a dream list (eg, Paul C full leather interior).

Can you show me a picture. The PET does not show how it is installed as it is on a diagram with the aircon hoses.

Also, what # is yours (mine is 774 made in April 78). Maybe they started after a certain production date. Or not on the US cars.

I can't find any sign on mine. If it was there, it was completely removed before I purchased it in '90.

The work shop manuel shows how to install, look in the A.C. section and it will give you all the details. You will also need to get a tee part # 999 137 014 40 to splice into the hose that leads to your cold start vale.

You actually will need two tees, one for each side of the auxiliary air regulator.

If the link works, it takes you to a photo of my MY80's engine bay, with most of the components labelled. (It's in the landshark forum on Yahoo, and I'm not sure whether you can view it with the direct link. If you can't see it, say so and I'll dig out that original and post it. Of course, you are welcome to join the group. :-) )

You can't really see the electric air valve on the brace, but you can get an idea of how it's plumbed in.

And there it is. page 87-68. Funny it is written as if there isn't one there in the first place. Must not have been installed in all models. Certainly not mine.

Funny the hose from the AAV is even ordered in one piece for the 78 and 79's. Odd if it came with the tee's and air valve from the factory.

Fabio421, I'll make sure I in its entirety for things not even on my 928 - just in case it's in there - before I post in the future.
