Default Question: 044 Fuel Pump Upgrade

FINALLY had some time to get o this tonight.

Pump came in the usual Bosche Box, but, much to my dismay, the nuts and washers for the electrical connections weren't included. They're larger than the stock ones, but what size are they????

Can't remember what sizes they are but IIRR they are normal M size metric threads so should be easy to find.

The 044 pump sitting on my 'parts to fit' shelf measures off as an M5 stud.

It's still in its sealed bag, so I didn't try to put an M5 nut on it to confirm the thread pitch however... presumably it would be a standard M5 x 0.8

Default Must be a difference

Picked up some M5 hardware tonight and way too small......

Visually looks like maybe M7 or M8????

Thats weird

Did you get the pump from a 928 supplier? Maybe there are variants of the pump... I got mine sent here from Roger, but seems strange that there would be different stud threads.

Could be best to pick up a selection of metric nuts and go by trial and error... doesn't hurt to have a selection laying around for an 'emergency'

I recall on my 044 that the (-) and (+) were different sizes so polarity would be correct for the connectors. Seem to recall 7mm and 8mm resp. Happy to look.

There is only one 044 pump and it is made by Bosch.
928sRus supplied the pump to Rob so it is the correct Bosch part.
Pump does not come with hardware unlike some of the aftermarket generic pumps that often come with hardware and electrical connectors to allow fitment to multiple applications.

Didn't Andrew Olson prepare a detailed write up on fitting the 044 pump - maybe that will help.

OK update.
Two sizes for polarity, mine is M6 and M7. YMMV.
Yes, Mr. Tyson supplied the part so I've no question on that bit.
Cant' deny I was surprised that Bosche didn't supply the nuts and washers though.

Rob,
They do not come with any of the 928 Bosch fuel pumps.
Glad you sorted it out.

Owning 928 should mean one also has good selection of all normal metric size nuts, bolts and washers.

I operate (due to limited space and the opinions of my wife),
On a JIT supply chain model.
I don't warehouse stuff.........Well at least most stuff, like, that might be useful or anything.....
