Talking In dash brakes ligth on

Asking the for a friend of mine, the car is a 90 S4 the brakes ligth in the dash is on & won't go out I beleive it will be the brakes sensors acting up since brakes pads are new .How does he bypass the brakes sensors ,he doesn't want them anymore on the car.TIA .And secondly what will be the best 18" wheels for his car.

to bypass the wirese solder the ends together at each wheel or remove the sensor and make a jumper wire to connect the car side of the harness together this way the system can be restored with the least damage..

For wheels do a search...........show me your wheels
too many options

Do you mean the red BRAKE light on the right side of the dash or the BRAKE PAD SERVICE that comes on in the digital read out along the bottom of the dash? Merlin describes a fix for the latter warning while the former could be an issue with the brale light bulbs, ignition switch etc

Sorry to have mislead you guys, but it's not the brakes sensor ligths is trying to get ride off but the tires pressure ligth .I remember driving it when he was up here a couples of weeks back & seeing that ligth (which look like a four wheel drive patern) staying on all the time ,not sure at 100% but I think it was flashing on & off .TIA -Ernie

Find the RDK control box on the left kick panel, unplug the connector, install a jumper between pins 2 & 13 in the connector, and leave the connector unplugged from the control box.

If your buddy has access to the internet, he should join rennlist or post on the forum so he can might cut out burdening you, the middle man.

Also, if he's parting out another 928, there's a pretty good chance this group of sharks would devour them.

Thank you so much for that picture. Puts my mind at ease - the car I bought had that exact plug shorted/jumpered and I was worried about what it was for. I'm in the middle of a deep suspension/brake refurbishment and obviously don't need to buy new wear sensors!

Just to make sure everything's clear, the pic I posted is the RDK connector (tire pressure sensor) and not related to the brake pad sensors.

Happy if it helped.
