Default 88 S4, changing A/C Compressor clutch

I am doing this in a week and want to know if there is anything I should look out for and be careful of...? I do have the shop manuals so I feel confident I can do this, just want your opinions on what I should look out for, whether I SHOULD do this myself since its A/C related or can I do it myself.

Do I need to discharge the air-conditioner when just changing the compressor clutch...?

thanks...

I went through something similar a few years ago:

Note: My car has a different compressor, but you might still be able to learn something from that drama...

Best of luck!

You don't need to discharge the A/C refrigerant to change the compressor clutch.
