Default Foam Strips in Wheel Liners

Can anybody post a picture of where the different foam strips go in the front wheel liners for a '93 GTS. I have the WSM cd but can't find it.

I have pics at home but not uploaded. Will do so tonight if you don't get pics by then.

In the mean time:

The factory pieces are $20ish, all in:

1.00 3.54 3.54 left front wheelwell sealing strip - horiz U 928 504 223 05
1.00 3.48 3.48 left front wheelwell sealing strip - forward vertical strip 928 504 223 04
1.00 3.51 3.51 left front wheelwell sealing strip - long vertical 928 504 223 07
1.00 3.53 3.53 right front wheelwell sealing strip - long vertical 928 504 223 08
2.00 3.68 7.36 left and right front wheelwell sealing strip - short vertical - need 2 928 504 223 09

Cross sectional dimension is ~1.40" x 0.80". So two strips of 3/4" square foam weatherstripping stacked on top of each other would work.

Dave, Just replaced my front splash guards along with the foam seals on the GTS. These foam pieces are all pre-cut to length. It's a pretty simple, low piece puzzle. If I could do it, you could definetly do it. 77Tony (Mechanically challenged)

Dave,

Remind me at SITM and I will show you, if you don't get a pic before..also pretty sure I have all of them here, for sure some of them if you need any.

If you decide to do the "weather stripping" some mentioned, you should consider dipping or spraying that with Plastic Dip or something similar to emulate the way the factory ones are done.

Look forward to seeing you and the kids soon! OH, and yeah I look forward to seeing that "ole ragged out" GTS too...

Honestly, I feel bad you have to be seen driving that "thing", you should just leave it here after SITM.... I would be happy to give you and the kids a ride home in my Dually...Ha, Ha!

See ya soon,

Rob,

Thanks for posting that.

I was thinking the foam strips would stop at the fender and nose cover seam where the gap is in the wheel liner, but it looks like you ran yours straight on through.

DR,

I have all the correct Porsche pieces, and each has a part number, so I was hoping to find something in the WSM showing where each particular piece went, since some a very close in length to the other.

Oh and make me an offer on the GTS at SITM. Brand new set of PS2's and just had the wheels sand blasted and powder coated.

The key is getting the smaller pieces lined up with that "notch out" on the fender liner where it lines up where the fender to bumper cover join/bolt together. The others should be fairly straight forward as Rob' pics show.

Make you an offer?? I wish, but I wouldn't insult you with what I could offer at this point in time.

As I have told you before, even back when we installed the SharkVent and BlackBird here... it is one of the cleanest nicest ones I have seen...and the color is just PERFECT for me!

OH, OH, remind me about your SharkVent at SITM, I have some updated parts to give you.

Cheers,

I used 1/2" foam pipe insulation from Home Depot. Cheaper, lasts longer and seals better. Fold it and stuff the two open sides into the groove in the panel.
