Hi Colin, thank you for your explanation. Now I understand how it works. I don't think this modification is suitable for me. I am not looking for a shorter "throw" of the shifter but only fo a more precise feel of the shifting action. I can immagine taking the slack out of the OEM shifter by fitting a couple of delrin bushes in stead of the springs.

Ad,

This shifter amplifies the precision. If one were so inclined to increase the throw they could weld a bar on the top and make it longer that way.

I have a short shifter, Carl's front ball cup and shimmed rear coupler but I am leaning towards the Lizard shifter now...
