Default Any tricks on replcing radiator hoses?

Hi,
I seem to have a very small leak on my lower radiator hose where it goes on the radiator. I ordered new hoses, figuring while I have the system drained, I will replace both hoses. My only concern is it may be difficult to get them off the radiator and I may damage the old plastic radiator. Any tricks or special advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Remove the clamp first!

They will come off easy, maybe give it a slight turn/twist before removal. They dont get welded on like other cars.

Study the black plastic end-tank where it seals against the aluminum radiator. Sometimes that is where the actual leak is.

And use distilled water to refill.

Some people use a hose tool which is a bent pick but if used wrong you can damage the hose.

Mark the rad end of the hose to make it easy for you know which end goes where which you can compare to the new hose. You can also mark them top and bottom.

lube the new hose ends with some silicone grease or Vaseline if they are hard to go back on.

Make sure they are pushed on all the way and don't forget to slide both clamps onto the hoses first. Cleaning and lubing the clamps helps them turn smoother.

Never work on it when it is hot.
